I was able to get some wings on the Weber before the snow came in. I did 3 with Damois Dave’s “devils spit bbq, a couple with about 3 TBS franks, 4 TBS butter and 1 TSP Italian dressing a couple Witt a new garlic parm sauce I made which turned out good. It was 4 TBS butter, 3 TBS Parmesan (grated) and 2 TBS garlic powder those were my favorite of the bunch. Also left a lot plain. All just had SPOG on them before they hit the grill. And I put the sauce on with about 10 minutes to go!

Looks darn good. Bought a vortex the other day. Hoping to get a chance to use it soon as I get a day off.
Jim

i love the vortex. Just took me a few cooks to get use to it. Kept over cooking them at first haha

Time wise approx how long to cook a mess of drums and wings like you have? I know to cook to temp but was just wondering timewise.
Jim

That's about as pretty a picture as could be, big Like! Nice job on changing up the sauces too, I've taken to tossing my Vortex cooks with about five minutes to go in a steel bowl. Now I want some yardbird legs! RAY

What's up with the steel bowl? Sounds interesting....

It's for tossing legs and wings Mose, gets a nice coat on them, fast and easy. Works on whatever flavor I like that day, usually teriyaki or SBR sauce. Going to Vortex up some yardbird legs tomorrow in fact, this post got me inspired! RAY

So you're tossing them after they've cooked a bit instead of brushing? If so, that's a heck of an idea!
Planning wings tomorrow myself. Was going to today but it's just too windy and cold....

Yep, same way most restaurants do Mose. I do wings for a half hour, toss them, then back on the grill for five minutes. Legs I go five minutes longer before tossing, then back on for five. RAY

I can tell you my method. Others may differ.
Once the vortex is going full tilt boogie I put the wings on and spin the lid 1/3 every 10 minutes for 30 minutes. Then I sauce or glaze one side, turn and sauce the other side and turn the lid every 2 or 3 minutes, checking each time. 40 or 45 minutes tops!!!

just like Mose said. Turning the lid is key you’ll see how fast they cook with the vortex and how much hotter it gets where the vent is!
Thanks for all the god words everyone
