Nice find and plate of TT. We love TT in our house!

Bummer on only being able to score one but maybe if you let them know you will be a steady customer they will keep them in!
Thanks Civil. I'm going back today to see if they still have them. Chances are good, because not a lot of folks around here even know about TT. Also the family that owns the store is what we call a touch-hole relative of ours. He's the uncle of a niece of ours, and we get along really well.

Thanks Jeff, I had it all mapped out in my head, but then I got the better of myself and just kept cutting away.
Sure looks great to me Chris! Family hated the first TT that I cooked. I paid no attention to the grain and it was a mighty tough chew. Poligrip would have cried😁.
I still pull my diagram out and make sure it's cut correctly .

Great looking Tri Tip, nice cook!

I guess I am in the club too, I just scored my first TT a couple months ago. A meat market I go to a couple times a year to stock up, which is a little bit of a drive, their weekly sales list came out and had USDA Prime Tri Tip for $5.99lb. Still got a couple in the freeze.

Thanks Dave, I seem to find them in places where I'm not expecting to find them. It's almost like a game of hide and seek every couple of years or so.

Appreciate it Ray, Yes I'm going back today to see if they're still there. I would have gone yesterday but I was to busy at home with honey-do's and I had the grill running most of the afternoon.

So I went back yesterday, and unlucky for me they sold the other two. They did replace them with two more though. One looked like a botched abortion, and the other was a thing of beauty. I picked up the beauty and it's now sitting in my freezer waiting to be called upon in the not so distant future. Oh, by the way it's weighs in at just under 3 lbs. So it's a big'un.

Yep that is about the size of all of them. At least it looks like they should be stocking some of them from now on.

I certainly hope so. The owner wasn't there when I went back. So I couldn't talk to him or his wife.

Great thing about a bad cut on a tritip is it gives ya a little more time to chew and savor the beef.
Cant ask for a better looking plate, BB, corn, and TT. Please sir, may I have another!

Thanks BED, Yeah I wasn't thinking right when I went out, but in my defense I was only planning on spending 5.00 on the beer, and one nice steak for the wife should have been under 15.00. Little did I realize.
