I use an XBOX controller on the PC. There is a usb adapter that connects it to the PC wirelessly.
I build my own systems and the gaming PC is higher end components. You can certainly get a pre-built one in that price range. What I would put my money on is the graphics card and the amount of memory. 32GB is enough for most games. Nvidia and AMD make the best graphics cards. It's like Ford Vs. Chevy. You don't need the highest end cards unless you want to play in 4K or higher. Most people are happy with 1080p resolution.
