...but true. Last Monday, 12/9, my best friend was eating something when he felt a weird feeling in a lower rear tooth. Few days go by and things are going quickly south for him. Saturday he was admitted to the hospital and is in ICU now. Started out being intubated for 3 days, but today they did a tracheostomy. He's in an induced coma with IV antibiotics and pain meds fighting an infection all because of a bad tooth. I've known him all my life and he and his family are part of our zoo. Never ever known him to be sick with anything other than a cold.

Diagnosed with Ludwig's Angina...

Long days ahead for us...

Prayers for your friend and his family! My wife is nurse and things that can happen out of the blue to people is crazy!

Great Post Charles. Wishing the best for your friend.
Oral health and cardio health are really tied together in ways our providers don't fully understand.
I know the health problems from an infected tooth. It took months after the tooth was removed for infection to clear.

Prayers sent for his family to be strong through this trial and for the doctors, nurses and tech's to have the skills to safely navigate him back to good health.

Prayers for your friend buddy!

Its so true, live each day, no one knows what the future has planned. the longer I am alive, the more people I know who are not. it keeps me motivated to be a better person. better to go happy than sad and pissed off at all we cant control.

Thank you all. Tuesday, they put in the trach, drained a lot of fluid from his throat/neck are and changed his antibiotic regimen. Today, he is looking much better. Still a long ways to go, but seems to be headed in the right direction...
Best news possible! Hope the improvements continue
