UDS- blue on inside

Hey guys. Seems like this is the most popular topic but I'm building a UDS with a used unlined barrel. Used a propane torch on the outside. While burning the outside, the inside changed colors and now has a blueish tint. Safe to use or do I need to scrub? You can see where I scrubbed a section off. thanks!

Yes, just wipe it all down with low odor mineral spirits and getter built... getter done!

Totally safe to use as-is.

In fact, I kind of like that fire blued color.

It is a thin oxide layer that will inhibit rust, but it is very fragile. Oiling it helps, but in this case it should be seasoned anyway.

Sorry, I misread the original question. I thought the barrel in question was a new unlined barrel
