U-Bolt mod for the AMNTS

This is a good mod as I did it as well... But now I just stand it straight up in the smokehouse (the only place I use one) ...

@Compulsive Smoker ... I'm confused on the assembly... why the flat washers are where they are ?? If it's to keep from going through the grates shouldn't they be at the very bottom of the ubolt... Kinda like @Fueling Around did with his ?? Otherwise I would think your not gaining much as it will still be pretty close to flat..

I haven’t tried it out yet, but this Sunday I have a pork belly coming out of the brine for making bacon, and I want to cold smoke it for a couple hours…

I was going to cut the bottom of the bolts off, just didn’t get it done yet…

I didn’t know if I wanted it tilted up that high, but if you stand yours straight up, that should not be an issue! I’ll probably get another set of nuts, and set the washers down further!

I don’t actually…I took my tube along to Lowe’s and just got one that fit…

Thanks Brian! I saw you have stainless steel bolts…went back to check mine in order history and they are zinc coated…

Some people say it’s ok, some not…I went on Amazon and ordered stainless hardware just to be safe…not going to risk the health of my family for cheaper hardware!
