Ever have one of those weekends with maybe a little too much Q? Had a buddy and his wife staying with me this weekend. They love bbq, so when they stay it is the focal point of the menu...

Friday night was ribs, and of course I smoked way too many. Saturday for lunch was an all you can eat Indian Buffet. Saturday night was pulled pork. And Sunday morning was breakfast sandwiches.

Pants are a bit tight this morning, yikes!

To much of anything over time tends to get a little stale.I live in RI and I could eat some form of seafood daily and do it fairly cheaply compared to most but after a while that really does get old regardless of how you make it.

Ate burgers daily ,How many can you eat ?
FREE!, But got old.

I'm lucky enough to not get sick of foods. I grew up in the construction industry. Seems like those of us that bring their lunch eat the same deli cut sandwich day after day and the ones that buy get the same thing from the same gas station day after day.

😂 ham sandwich everyday for me never gets old. If it did I’d be so hungry at lunch I’d eat it anyway.

Can you imagine what it must have been like back in the 1800`s having to eat the same thing everyday for most of your life? Yeah me neither, lol. I can eat BBQ just about every day, and still not get enough of it, lol. You just need to be creative when making meals out of it everyday.:emoji_wink:

I do some form of barbecue almost every weekend and at least twice during the week. I eat that for lunches all through the week and it gets incorporated in to dinners most nights except Monday is salad or sandwich night. I find that staying away from the sides except maybe some veggies keeps the belt in the regular notch.

We almost never eat out and typically when we do it's a good Thai joint. It would probably cost me $2000 a week if I ate out the way I eat in ;)

Burgers last Saturday, homemade smoked sausage Sunday, smoked sausage for lunch Monday and today. Chicken fajitas tonight, have a chuckie in the sous vide right now for tomorrow night. Oh man!

Too much Q?

Daily?? Hell, I remember when I was an angry youth for having to eat pork roast once a WEEK every Sunday. That was mom's go-to. And at the time I hated it.

I now find myself cooking either pork roast or tenderloin many Sunday's of the year.

And I've since apologized to her for my antics.....

I was a little shit when I was a kid, and a self admitted Noni's/Grandma & Momma's boy. I was super intrigued with watching them cook things from scratch in both the home kitchen and family restaurant or deli. It's a good thing I learned to cook back then because my wife can't boil water without a timer, and I despise fast food.

I really need to start apologizing for being such a little shit about things.

Most of the men in my family were either commercial fishermen or owned restaurants, deli's, commercial fishing boats or fish processing plants.

Even though we mainly ate seafood at our house, I will never get tired eating seafood, deli sandwiches, or my favorite is good homemade Mexican food, I could eat either for weeks straight, same goes for Naples style pizza.

Luckily, I am not a picky eater, as long as it's good quality food, I'm down with grinding down on it for weeks at a time.

Most of my adult life I worked in San Francisco as a union plumber and pipefitter, and was lucky enough to have family owned deli's and seafood joints close by Downtown SF where I worked. That way, I could choose what I wanted to eat most days and have it delivered to the job sites.
(I felt sorry for the guys that ate the same boring things every day).
The funny thing is I always ordered the same things over and over, even with all the options that I had. :emoji_laughing:

I work for a farmer in the summers. His mother tried to be nice today and serve a meal in the field. It was barely edible sandwiches and I did my best to choke it down. Boss tossed his in the ditch

Left over char grilled burgers is still my favorite farm food. If we're in the shop a quick reheat in the microwave is killer. In the fields, I have places on the tractors to reheat food.

I like a lot of different foods from all over the world. Luckily where I live almost everything is available. The thing is I really don't like eating the same thing day after day. I have to mix it up. I might have something new I really love but if I eat too much of it my body will say NO MORE! and it will take a really long time if ever to want it again.

One of them for sure is Salmon. I use to like it but rarely ate it. When I first got with my wife who loves it I had it way more than I was use to and got to the point where I don't know if I will ever want it again.

Same thing with Korean food. I fell in love with it a few years ago but had it too much and had to back off because I was getting tired of it.

I smoke and BBQ a lot but have started limiting the amount I make each time because I am the primary one that eats it and some leftovers go to waste. That is different if we have people over because I make more and everyone has something to take home and enjoy.
