ThermoWorks SALE on SMOKE 2-Channel Alarm Thermometer

ThermoWorks is having an open box sale on their SMOKE 2-Channel Alarm Thermometer system.  I gladly paid full price for mine when it came out.  I give it a 5-star review except for one little thing.  It has no kickstand or other way to set on a table the receiver unit.  But this is still a great unit and I use it now while my good ol' Maverick ET-732 sits in the drawer [it gets used on big smokes where I need more than 2 probes].

I have a Maverick ET-733, would the Smoke be a step up?  I see it as a lateral move.
