Have a cher-grill and have purchased a new thermometr to get rid og the one that came with it. need to cut a hole to insert it. Any suggestions on what to use to cut the hole.

I have an over abundance of them both

The new one won't fit into the old hole? maybe just ream it out a bit larger? that's all I had to do

If you are just replacing it you can find a good Tel-Tru thermometer here that is the same size as the old one...

I just mounted a Tel-Tru in my smoker and used an Irwin Uni-Bit #4 to drill a 7/8" hole. Worked easily. http://www.irwin.com/irwin/consumer/...t/unibit.jhtml

Yes you need to drill a hole and depending on the size hole you need all you have to do is ge a metal drill bit the same size as the thermometer said. That themometer that beer was telling you anout looks like it woulb be a good one to use I'm even gonna look at them too.

Hey,

If your thermometer has a 1/2 national pipe thread fitting with a lock nut, and if you have a Harbor Freight close to you. Drive down there and buy a "varibit" they are cheap there and will last for a few holes before they are junk.
