Supposed to hit 60 today. We have a paving project going on. Man I love Arizona.

DUDE!!! What the hell are you going to do about digging your smoker outta that shizzz... You definitely got it worse then I did!

Wow Dude, you did get more than we did. I think we got 12 inches and the winds of course. The way our out buildings are and the trees for the wind break are situated, left drifts in the drive way 3 feet high. Have to use the backhoe later to dig out. Oh how I love Winter.

don't worry Jay we got some big piles on the southside to, living on the third biggest hill in the whole dang town made some entertainment the last couple days at least

plus a free day off, can't beat that with a stick

Dude (AKA "Frosty"),

That's almost twice what we got here Saturday night. Ours is nearly all gone already, thanks to the inch or two of rain we got since.
With the temps you got there, yours might stay around awhile !

Hint: If you let the snow build up around the smoker, you could get a nice wind break out of it.

Here's another quick photo. Sorry about the quality. My brother tried to stop in and check on my parents. He snapped this with his cell phone. The house is in the back on the left. The driveway is about a 100 yards long. In the foreground as you go into the driveway there are stone walls that are about 6' high. The one on the right is pretty much buried. Lots of drifting in that wind.

Too late, it is windy here today, although it is above zero. My Dogs are stir crazy, they have been cooped up in the house for too long.

I feel your pain up in ames dude. I was out shoveling my car and my girlfriends car for an hour and a half last night so I could go back to work today... We got 14 inches but that wind was crazy! I only saw one guy in a jeep try to get out of our parking lot and he got stuck in a 4 foot deep snow drift that he tried to plow through. When he got out he was wearing gym shorts... just goes to show who tries to go out in weather like that.

Dude,
We feel your pain, just moved to OK year & a half back from Iowa-just north of Red Rock, 3 miles of gravel road hell, still have family in Ames and Newton. No snow here, but it is cold, down to 15. I vividly remember the snow removal (or lack of) in DM but this is pretty exceptional storm. Stay warm!

That's horrible Jay. Nice pics though.
Cold but sunny here with clear skies for the next several days, a bit windy but glad we don't have all that snow on the ground.

Thanks for checking out the thread everyone. I was just looking at the weather forecast and there's not a day above freezing anywhere in sight. So it looks like this will be sticking around for a while. I don't like snow, but I can deal with it. It's the flippin' wind and nasty cold temps that I just hate.

Plows finally made it down my street sometime overnight. Fortunately there wasn't much of a drift at the end of my driveway. That's because myself and a couple of the neighbors had actually used our snowblowers to clear out about 6 houses worth of the street last night trying to get some other neighbors unstuck before the plows came through.

Saw a couple of stories on the news about how they had to have plows followed by National Guard, followed by State Troopers, followed by ambulances to get to people that got themselves stranded in rural areas or on highways. They said we normally get 8" of snow in December. LOL

Got a buddy of mine who is a surgeon who said within a couple of hours of starting his shift at the hospital he'd already had to remove 3 fingers from people who'd stuck their hand into snowblowers that had gotten jammed up. Yuck.

Wow, man you sure have it rough right now! Hang in there, stay warm and get some good familia time in with the kids home from school . Make some plans for this summer's BBQ's and get a plan of action to get them geared up

You can send half of that snow and weather down here; icy, below-zero wind and nothing else is just a bummer!
