I picked up a picture of Main Street where we live from 1925. It’s fascinating to look at stuff like this.

Ya back when I was a kid we used to have to dial 2-then the number of the person you were calling which was shorter then todays numbers. Thats if no one was one the party line you belonged to :)

My Dad always said, the good old days weren't all that good. He grew up on a farm in the 1930's and 40's. He was glad to get off the farm.

For years we only had to dial the last 4 numbers to call anyone on our exchange.
Our full number listing was WHitneyX-XXXX

I also love seeing the old ads from a long time ago.
Mona just gave me a book for xmas on the longest running exhibition here from our area ( 1800's ). Fun and good read on how things went back then

I used to stay at my grandparents farm every summer when I was little . Their phone was a crank and their 's was 2 long and 1 short crank. And you know the other 5 houses were always on listening to all the calls. lol
