Got up at 4am to use the facilities. And wondered why it was so dang cold in the camper. Furnace wasn't running. Start up. And blow cold air for a couple of minutes. Then shut off. Huh, now what?
Checked the stove to see if it would light......nope.
Stupid me. It has been a cool May. And I burned through both tanks! In the class A. It shows the level on the main panel. This one doesn't. Which surprised me at this level of fifth wheel.
Lucky for me. There's a place 3 miles down the road that opened at 7am. Ann wouldn't let me have my second cup of coffee until I got the heat going. The fireplace works great in the living area. But not the other areas.
Ended up ordering a remote level sensor kit.

LOL
Been there done that myself.
At the last FL get together our friends ran out of gas on the first night which was extra chilly.
Their bed got crowded with 2 dogs and 2 cats

Being you're basically a park model, can you get a 100# and hookup with a longer whip hose?

I could. But, I hate how they look. I ordered level sensors that are bluetooth connected to a panel I'll mount with the other controls and level gauges inside the camper.

Not sure I could have went out before the second and cup haha , Those sensors sound like a great addition.

I always keep a large supply of propane on supply for general use and emergencies....

7 x 20lb, 1 x 40lb and 1 x 100lb tank!

It has been a cold may! Low 30s earlier this week!

What do you currently have for LP tanks?
If they are under the neck can you add a couple more tanks? I understand that as heating season goes away you are down to stove top alone?
I'm guessing your water heater is dual mode?
Very surprised your unit doesn't have heat pumps.
The last class c we rented for the FL get together had a heat pump so we used the free campsite electric for the chilly nights and the A/C for the warm days

Have had that a few times in the middle of the night while hunting in Nov with one of the tanks running out. It is no fun getting up in the middle of the night to switch tanks with temps in the 20's and snow on the ground. Might have to look into one of the remote level sensors you mentioned.

I have two 30 pound tanks mounted in the front side. I have four 20 pound tanks full at home. For the generator and emergency use. Haven't brought them out yet.
Water heater dual mode.

Happens to most of us at times Steve, but glad a quick trip fixed it. I think we’ve all been there at some point.

But, tell Ann to have a heart… depriving a man of his coffee… that’s just not right! 😩

All kidding aside, glad your back up and running. And that sensor kit sounds like a good investment.

Lol! Cold is right! I have four 20 pound tanks full. But they are still home. They're coming up this weekend.

Well our NW MN weather just changed to summer mode. 93 high today. It should reach you in a couple of days

A little electric heater would be a cheap backup need. Have an Eden Pure electric heater that works great and isn't very noisy. Runs cheaply. May as well use camps electricity unless your sites are metered separately.

Yeah. I had three of those at home too! There is one in the truck to take up this Friday. Our site is metered separately.

Figured. The weekend was cold and rained like crazy. Yesterday when we got home? 85 and sunny!!

LOL !! That's the main reason I never used the auto transfer system. I just used one tank and manually transferred. It was a PITA, but it kept me from guessing.
That's what got me. Oh well. The level sensor hopefully will prevent that.

I know the feeling on the cold and empty tanks Steve.
I got into the habit of only opening one tank at a time with a hanging tag on it so other prople ( Mona ) knew which one was in use , as we would shut them off when we went home . that way we opened the same one the next weekend.
And when it ran out I knew we had one full tank to go, and just switch to the second tank.

I would take the empty back with us . Then most times I also had an extra tank on stand by in the shed or somewhere at the site so that was 3 tanks incase we were there longer then the 2 tanks could handle , especially in the srping.

Its a cold one coming this week end , thank god we have the cottage up and running , almost 95% finished

David
