I FISHED OUT OF SANTA CRUZ FOR OVER 40 YEARS, YOUR BLUEFIN IS THE BIGGEST I'VE EVER SEEN, GOOD JOB! THE BEST EATING WAS RAW ON THE WAY BACK TO THE HARBOR, USUALLY ALBACORE OR JACKS, ALWAYS HAD A BOTTLE OF SOY SAUCE ON BOARD.
The past 2 to 3 yrs they've been catching some real monsters out of Santa Cruz and Halfmoon Bay and the 601. 275lb is the biggest I've seen on a fishing forum I go on, with quite a few 200lb fish. I caught this fish after a commercial buddy of mine said, get down here NOW!!! They caught four fish in the 200lb class at the "Fingers" off of Davenport. We packed the boat and launched at 4:00 AM, were back at the ramp by 9:00 AM with limits of Ling's and Rock fish. Got back to my truck and some dirtbag broke in and popped my ignition tumbler trying to steal my truck. That is the second time they've done that down there.
So now I pull the fuse that powers the starter, so at least they don't drive off with my truck, but it's still a pain in the ass. My brother came and got the boat, and us. I hate it down there these days, I can't wait to bail out of this State.

Looks good to me.

I could never post a salmon cook here, I'd get crucified because I like mine cooked through. Not cooked to flinders, but flaky. My leftovers get turned into salmon patties, and if I had some of that delicious looking tuna, I'd probably try turning leftover into tuna patties. Ona bun with lettuce tomato and mayo.....
I like all my fish cooked through, I can't handle opaque fish.
I've never made tuna patties, but really like Salmon patties and Salmon cakes.
I'm gonna try tuna patties, I have a bunch of scrap tuna, that I scraped off the carcass, before I bagged it for crab bait.

I'd smash it! Nice cook and great catch!
Thanks man, I'm not sure that I want to catch that size or bigger ever again. With my back and neck issues, I couldn't walk for a week, and even after giving my two friends that were with me, it's a lot of fish to store. I'd much rather catch a 50 to 60 lber. I have friends that go on two weeks long, long range trips to Mexico to fish the Cedros islands. The Cedros is known for their MONSTER Yellowfin tuna.
(And the Great White Sharks/ the tax man, as they call them, they steal anglers fish off their line).
These guys come home with 400 to 600 lbs of tuna each, so much they can hardly give it away. I help them Can and smoke a bunch, and take as much as I want. I'm still eating Yellowfin that I canned for them from last yr, and they leave for another trip next month. Nothing goes to waste, but it's boarder line too much fish for one person to bring home. I hate bag limits, but understand most of them. I hate gluttony even worse though, my feeling is only take what you know you can use in a reasonable amount of time.
