Just curious what, if any, bookkeeping and/or tax software any of you might use or recommend. I would need something suitable for small business/farm as well as personal use. (Guess what I've been doing).

What Bassman said.

I use Quickbooks for my business, have used it at businesses that I worked for in college, and have set it up for many other businesses. Very powerful, flexible yet friendly.

I'm guessing that you're now selling beevies?

Quicken and Quickbook is what my daughter used when she was working as a bookkeeper.

As everyone else said, I would start with Quickbooks. Its super cheap, very user friendly, and is so widely used that you can ask your next door neighbor for tech support!
If you need an accounting system with more sophisticated inventory/manufacturing/shipping/serial number tracking, I would suggest Peachtree. Still very affordable and the tech support is unbelievable.
Good luck!

I would highly highly recommend QuickBooks but get the PREMIER EDITION. I have been running quickbooks for 10 years for my contracting business and I love it and so does my accountant. Just email him the accountants copy at the end of the year and he can do everything from there. Also set up a friend of mine with his business and he is able to keep track of his inventory and even tells him when it's getting low and time to re order. Set another friend up that trains horses and she loves it too. VERY VERY easy to use, pretty much walks you right threw everything. Heck i even know towns that use quickbooks to keep them straight, lol. gota love small town living!!!!

Well my taxes actually. I can't tell from the website if QuickBooks is designed to handle farm and ranch income or not. I did use TurboTax this year for the first time. It did seem easy, but having done my taxes myself, by hand, since I was about 16, it was hard to trust it. Especially since you don't see the forms being built until the end. Thanks for all the input.
