I'm old. During my teenage and 20's i lived in East-Central Illinois. Then i moved to Portland Oregon where i lived until 2006 and also got into cooking because of a gas cook-top at the age of 30. I then moved to Southern CA to home care my my father after my mother passed. My father passed in 2012. Then i had time to get into smoking and because i wanted to and there really are no "real" smoking BBQ eateries around here. I started with a Bradley but found it really did not meet my needs. Then i bought a Traeger Lil-Tex. I worked with its Low-Med-High controller for about a year and could not get it to work. I searched the forums and found a direct digital replacement from Blazin-Grills. Works really great now. I do seem to over cook my Baby Backs. Just can't seem to get them done but still have those teeth prints and a bit of pull. I make all my own rub and sauces which i still have not figured out completely either. I mean they are good but not great. I read the Pulled Pork Basics article and there are wonderful ideas there. So that's it for the intro and a little bit about me.
