Supplies for homemade smokers?

Where is a good place to find tanks to make BBQ smokers? Do LP suppliers sell old tanks? I'm looking to make a smoker but not having any luck finding tanks on craigslist. Does anyone know any tricks to finding tanks? Looking for a smaller size, like a 250 gallon LP tank or air tank or something. Any info would be apprieciated, thanks.

Any place that sells tanks should know where the outdated are kept. At the local dump here there is usually at least one hundred. I do not know where they eventually end or what they are used for

Good idea to check a local dump or recycling place. Heck, call to any salvage yards near you is another option.

Sorry I can't be of much help here, but I simply never thought to try and find where to get the parts for a UDS :)
