Suggestions on a Stuffer?

We have a 30lb Cabelas Stuffer with the foot control motor on it...stuffs very well- the motor makes a big difference with the consistancy. Leaves about 1 1/2 lbs of meat on the bottom when we're done, but we always just dump that right into a frying pan and cook it up for a "celebration" snack. I haven't noticed any problems with the stuffer yet, but it has only made a few hundred pounds of brats, polish, italian, and summer sausage.
 
Well, To day I Stuffed 70 #s of Sausage, part of the 130# I plan to make this week. So I was able to try a couple remedies for my small problems with the 2 stuffers.

As Mulepacking suggested I tried crushed Ice in my Vert, It did improve from having 3 #s left in the bottom to only 1 #. Thanks Mule

And with my old Fashioned stuffer, I placed a wash cloth over the plunger of the stuffer.. It worked great also, I only lost a bit of meat.
