... but didn't quite make it there.
After the recent discussion of KC BBQ restaurants, had a craving for a Z-man.
To be honest I don't actually like the Z-man (at least conceptually). Good BBQ should not need an onion ring and cheese. In practice, it's pretty dang good.
But got a late start and lost the motivation to slice cheese and make onion rings, so it turned into a (darn tasty) plain old BBQ sandwich.
Asked my wife to make Kaiser rolls (gluten free) and she DELIVERED! We only had bagel seasoning, no plain sesame seeds, but that actually worked great since it brought the onion flavor that was missing without the onion rings.
Sliced some leftover smoked beef shoulder roast nice and thin and fried it up with some lard left over from my recent chicharon cook and some Kinders Hickory Brown Sugar (which is WAY to sweet btw).
Made up sandwiches with a little extra sauce and some home made bread and butter pickles.
And served up with sauteed green beans, okra and tomatoes from the garden. First okra for the year for us, a whole 3 of them, lol.
Thanks for looking!
