I am selling my insulated gravity fed cabinet smoker. I just bought a new pit, so this one has to go to make room for the new one in my garage.

It is a Southern Q Limo Jr. gravity fed charcoal smoker, which I purchased new in 2019. It has 4 slide-out cooking racks, each measuring 19"x24". Total cooking space is 1824 square inches.

This pit cooks like a charm! When I bought it, I was cooking more often for bigger crowds...but now it's really too big for my needs. I usually cook only for 2 people, so this big cooker is way overkill. It'll hold 12-15 racks of spares at once, or 16 pork butts, or 8 briskets. It is still in excellent condition - always stored in the garage.

You can buy a new Limo Jr. on their website for $2600, not including add-ons and freight (which, at the time I bought it was $550 delivered to NE Oklahoma). This one is priced at $1500, and will include the BBQ Guru DX3 temperature control system. I also added an extra cooking rack (comes standard with 3 racks) and a travel latch. You can pick it up in NE Oklahoma, just east of Tulsa. Or, if you'd prefer, I'll be happy to deliver it to you anywhere in the lower 48 for the cost of my travel expenses.

Features:

4 sliding 19"x24" cooking racks
Tel Tru analog thermometer in the door
Custom Charcoal Gray Metallic Paint
BBQ Guru DX-3 Temp controller
Slam latch
8 inch heavy duty locking casters

That is a great deal !!!

Thanks buddy! It must be a pretty good deal...

Because It's already SOLD!!

Wow, I'd be hard pressed to let that one go :emoji_disappointed:

It's been a good one for sure! I have really enjoyed cooking on it, but it's just too big for a guy who only cooks for two.

And here I was hooking up the trailer...
Someone got a great deal!

I was surprised how fast it went! I guess I shoulda listed it for more lol!

Yeah I think the fella is getting a great cooker...I take pretty good care of my pits. Always garage stored, and I keep 'em maintained.

BUT
What in the new pit???

Keith

I ordered a new Hasty Bake Legacy 131. Been wanting one for a long time...just couldn't pull the trigger.

It won't be here until sometime next week. I'm sure I'll post a thread to show it off when I get here! Until then, here's a YT vid that features it pretty well:

That looks like a pretty neat smoker. I also now see why you priced your Southern Q Limo at the price you did.
Time to change your signature again. 🍺 :emoji_thumbsup:

That went really quick. I've always thought I'd have my Assassin 17 for life because of the cost of shipping. And I wonder about the market for GF cabinets here in OKC. But I'm not even thinking about selling.

Did you have to deliver or will buyer pick it up ?

Thanks Mike! LOL yeah, it wasn't a random number. When I decided to pull the trigger on the Hasty Bake, my thought was that a "break-even" price on the Limo Jr. was a reasonable asking price.

And I forgot about the signature, but yeah...I'll be changing that!

I'm like you - when I bought the Southern Q, I figured it'd be me last smoker. But circumstances and needs change over time. These days, all that cooking capacity is wasted on me. The majority of my cooks are a single rack of ribs, or a small brisket or pork butt. Seems a crime to have all that cooking space that never gets used anymore. And I've gotten the itch for direct fire cooking, which the new Hasty Bake will do very well, while still performing great as an indirect low and slow smoker as well.

The buyer is coming to get it - sometime early next week.

Nice choice . Love the adjustable charcoal grate . Red oak burnt down to coals , grate all the way up , and a couple thick ribeyes . You're gonna love that .

Thanks buddy! Yep - that adjustable grate system is why I'm buying this cooker instead of just trying to build something similar. I spent many weeks trying to reverse engineer something similar on paper that I could build myself...turned out to be more complicated and expensive than just buying the grill (at least for a guy with my limited skills lol)

Three days ago I got an advertisement for Hasty Bake and had never heard of these before.

Yeah they seem to have more of a regional popularity. Having lived in the Tulsa area most of my life, I've always known about Hasty Bake...but clearly they're not a household name nationwide - which is a shame, because they're really nice cookers!

Made in Tulsa since 1952. They have a cult following in this part of the country.

Very popular bbq joint in Tulsa, Burn Co , cooks on 13 Hasty Bakes.

Burn Co. is about my favorite BBQ joint. Clear evidence that these Hasty Bakes turn out quality BBQ.

Whew!!! I'm glad you sold it.
My wife would have killed me it I bought it.

LOL!! Always better to ask for forgiveness that to ask for permission! :emoji_wink::emoji_laughing:

Oh ,,, same here . I had that cheap Char griller offset that had a manual charcoal grate . Best steaks ever . Been thinking on an adaption for a weber kettle . I've been thru bumper jacks , screw jack for pipe scaffold , scissor jack . I have a set of hinges from a live well on a fishing boat . That design might work out of steel . I pretty much aborted the idea . Lol .

Thanks Colin! Yes he does...in fact, Hasty Bake has a couple of Kent Rollins signature products: his Cowboy stove, and a Roughneck smoker.
