Its been a long time since I have seen the inside of a soda machine but if I remember right there would be a lot of stuff to remove. What kind of machine do you have in mind? Pictures?

My dad had an old Pepsi machine from the 50's that would make an awesome looking smoker. Rbranster, you are right, there was a ton of stuff on the inside to remove to make it possible. Although, you could leave some of the can holes in there and use them for supports for a sausage/bacon rack.....Hrmmmmmmm
My dad also had a old soda machine but it was back in the early 60's. If I'm remebering right it was all metal inside. Now I can't remeber what we had for dinner last night. but some pictures would be nice. But your idea sounds good so sent us some pics and we will let you know more.
So the machine is not in my possession. But i did happen upon a fridge freezer combo. I know, not as cool as the soda machine but as soon as I get it, I'll make a photo album to share!
Building smoke generator this weekend. using a 2-1/2" dia al. conduit with black iron caps. So, for all you experienced builders, what would be the best interior to go with? Of course my choice for the inside would be SS if i had the money, no kids or a loving wife, so could I get away with sheet metal (non-galv of course)?
