I have live and worked construction in places that reach 120* plus. I'm telling you a wet tee shirt doesn't cut it. The good contractors will bring in Bigass fans with misters and use old WW2 parachutes to use as shade canopies. Without the above people drop like flies, and one you have had heatstroke you become more susceptible to it each time you get it. I can no longer handle heat, it tears me up big time. It makes it impossible to enjoy outside events or even simple yard work, without feeling sick. I avoid the heat these days, whenever I can, when I can't I use battery powered mister fans and keep an ice chest full of ice water to dunk straw hats and towels to wrap around your neck, head and back.
I also drink Pedialyte along with Gatorade, and a ton of ice cold PH water, and beers after work. You know it's hot when you drink over a gallon of water and have salt crystallizing on your face arms and shoulders, and only piss once. LOL!!!
Looks Kill'er to me, a little dark isn't a problem for party grub, I'm sure people will devour them.
I got lucky weather wise, it's only getting up to the low too mid 80s here today, I can deal with those temps, actually the 80s are a perfect summer time temp. Warm enough that the bikinis clad women come out to play, not hot enough to make you feel sick. LOL!!!
Today is my cooking day for Mom's 85th 4th of July Birthday pool party tomorrow. I actually slept a little last night, so I got a late start. I have two pork butts on now, had to sit down for a few minutes, because my back and legs are not happy today. I'll throw on 4 to 6 racks of St Louis ribs in an hour or two. I started the butt's out at 220* hoping to get a little more smoke into them, when the ribs go on I'll bump the temp up to 265*. I'm using my new Recteq Beast 1000, this is my first long cook on it, I'm curious to see how it performs.
Nice job on the ribs.
Dan.
