In the market for a Flat top

I hate to beat a dead horse about what flat top to buy but I get back to the states in about a month and I’m looking for a new flat top griddle. (I figured if I order one now my wife would be over it by the time I get back ). Haven’t had much time to keep up on any new or improved ones. About 3 years ago I sold my CC. I liked it but at the time I didn’t really use it much. I didn’t like how rough the actual griddle was kinda made it a pain to clean. Anyway I’m looking for another one and always thought next time I’m just gonna buy the $299 blackstone from Walmart. Now I’m on Costco’s website and see they have a 44” 5 burner with cover for $549… we have a family of 5 but probably still don’t need that much size but definitely wouldn’t hurt. Anyone have any other recommendations? It’s been a while since I looked into them not sure if there is any new one that sticks out from the rest.

I have the BlackStone 36" model from Walmart and have no complaints. The wife loves cooking on it and 99% of the times we use it she's the one running it. I looked at others but at the price point that one is hard to beat.

Don't have any experience for comparison but I really like my Blackstone 36" 4 burner griddle. Gets plenty hot and I really love the cook surface. Has done a great job on everything I have cooked on it. Good luck getting the right one for you. With a family of 5, I would probably lean toward the 44" cooktop. My $0.02.

Incomplete combustion of propane can cause carbon monoxide to be produced. I wouldn't risk it without proper ventilation. There are propane stoves that can be used indoors but it must be rated to do so to be safe. Hope this helps.

Now you can, they have an E series griddle that is electric.

Hi from Los Angeles! We have a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 pre teens. I set out to buy a 36" Blackstone but settled on a 28" with 2 burners. The 28" is perfect for us. Half of the time I don't even use the whole grill and we are left with a good amount of leftovers. I tend to do Benihana style stir fry, chicken or veggies on it. I don't prefer cooking my steaks on it. Those are always on the regular grill. There are two issues I have with Blackstone grills. First, they are built for little people. I'm 6'2" and I had to sit in a chair to comfortably grill on it. It was so annoying that I cut my old gas bbq top off and set the top portion of the Balckstone on it. It sounds country because I am lol. I have an earlier version of the 28". I have no idea if the height has changed with them. The 2nd issue is the flame on the burners were quite small so I added an adjustble regulator on it so I could really get the heat up and sear whatever I needed to. Anyway, I'm not saying a 36" is too big. I just couldn't justify it. But you do have a party of 5. With that said my Blackstone works great with the increased flame and new height lol.
