Any of you guy build your own smoker with turners built in? I would like to see pictures. I have a tank and wanted to build one with a turner.

If you mean Rotisserie, there are probably a few around. Always thought I wanted one until someone asked me why! Moral of the questions was that if I was keeping temps in check I didn't need the ferris wheel.

I'm sure there are other reasons for having one.

This is just my two cents.

I've used a commercially built one and didn't like it. (It was a Kingfisher Cooker--not sure how prevelant they are). It was very easy to get the tray off balance when loading or unloading the meat. I dumped two pork butts out of a tray simply by lifting a third up to pull it out.

The other problem I experienced that day was you couldn't leave a temperature probe in the meat. You had to manually stop the movement, open the door, and check the temps. That's not a bad deal--unless there is a "nervous nellie" helping to cook. One guy was constantly probing the meat to see what temp it was at. It was hard to keep the heat regulated with that going on.

I'm sure others have better results than I've experienced. Maybe they will post with thoughts and possibly pics. Good Luck.

We have a smoker now that is big. There is my problem. My dad and uncle built it about 15 years ago. They didn't make the door all the way across so you have food in the sides and the back that are hard to get to. My thoughts on the rotisary was the food wold come to me making it eaiser to get out. I guess The door on this one could be welded then cut bigger. But I have a new tank and was going to make a new one anyway so I thought I would make it with a rotissary
