Hi all, thanks for the add.

Have dabbled with smoking a couple of times a year when away camping.

Late last year I decided to build my own offset smoker.

Test cook today was a hit.

Couple of small things to finish off and my smoker will be complete.

Welcome aboard. The folks here would love to see pictures of your smoker build!
Thanks.

Everything on it has been from the scrap bin, recycled steel, etc.

Definitely creative :emoji_grinning: It is not a beautiful creation like my boilermaker mate's one.

My expertise is more milling and lathe work so my creations for my mtbs are much more polished.
Welcome from Iowa! Very cool smoker... loved the flames coming out of the stack!

Thanks, yeah before welding the baffle it I though I would burn the red paint off. Love a good jet fire out of a chimney/stack.
Welcome from Hawaii!! I like that smoker!
Thanks, it still need a couple of finishing touches

Bit of an addition to my setup. A wood drying rack.

Harvested a bunch of plum wood and some blue gum but if course it will take some time to season, however we have a pot bellie fire in the pergola so I knocked up this drying rack to place right beside the pot-belly fire to speed up the process a bit.

You'll definitely get good air circulation around the wood using that rack.Very nice setup.

Yeah initially planed to had the shelves flat, but as I was assembling it I decided angled would be better.

Still have room for one more shelf, I just need to find the time to drill the eleventy billion holes in it :emoji_laughing:
