Do you have any issues with overflow? Does the head speed up or slow down flow?

We had two Bunns...the first one lasted 20 years and the second one lasted 17 years. When the last one died, we went with an old school Presto.

I had, key word, had, a Bunn. Never liked it from day one after buying it. I only bought the Bunn because i was repeatedly told how great they were. After realizing how much coffee i had to put in the damn thing to make my normal tasting coffee, i decided it needed a new home, the trash bin. I would never buy another Bunn ever again. I didn`t like the water heating 24/7 either. It always made my coffee taste terrible.

After dumping the Bunn, I went down the k-cup path, bought the Keurig, only to discover, what a nightmare that turned out to be when we discovered that the inside of the top of it was moldy scum much deeper inside where you would take the k-cup holder out of it. Problem with that was, you couldn`t get deep enough all around the inner top of it to get the scum removed where it was building up over time. To actually clean it correctly, you would have to disassemble the entire machine body to clean out where it began to mold. My wife an i couldn`t figure out why we had been sick for awhile. Once after discovering a weird smell around the coffee machine, we started looking inside the machine and saw how nasty it was deep inside after shinning a flashlight within the inside of the top, we threw THAT coffee maker in the trash, too!

This is the model we had. I think they called this one the Keurig Elite ?

Since then, we went back to the basics and bought a Cuisinart 12-cup simple coffee maker, and coffee has never tasted better, and this machine is so easy to keep clean, inside AND out. As expensive as coffee is today, and as much coffee as my wife an i drink, we also found that the k-cup was a ridiculous waste of money. All those k-cup machines have, is the convenience to blow out one cup of coffee quickly. I`m retired, i`m not into coffee racing, so the Bunn`s & Keurig's, just don`t make sense, for us.

Went and took a look at these when you first posted . $389.00 price tag needed some thought .
Got on Prime days this morning , and they had the one with the glass pot for $169.00
Still took some thought , but ended up pulling the trigger . Ninja still going strong , but figured I'd grab one while the deal was there .

For that price you won’t regret it! Descale it every 3 months and it will last a long time.

That's what I was thinking . I almost did it for full price when you first posted .
One hesitation is because the Ninja was a gift from my Daughter . I think she paid $125.00 for it ,
and it means something to me because of that .
She doesn't care though , but still . Just the way I am .
Turns out I got some extra deal ordering when I did . Said something about having 7 minutes left for extra discount . Most of them were $192.00 before tax .
This one was $183.00 total . Be here Tuesday . I'll give you a follow up . Really appreciate your post about it . Can always trust a suggestion here .

Best coffee I remember drinking was from one of my college room mates father's Corningware Electric Percolator.
Then somebody gave him a Mr. Coffee and he started using it to appease the person who gave it to him. Coffee never was the same again.
Sadly it looks like Corningware Percolators are no more as a new appliance.

Personally, I hate coffee (drink decaf ice tea all day), but wife drinks it. Two cups a day.
Not practical to brew a pot of coffee for just two cups.
Got her the Keurig Supreme.
Well, opened up email this morning and there is a class action lawsuit against them for this product line.
Apparently when you go through their descale process it shuts off power permanently.
Not really sure what permanently means in this context.
So, going to try the descale process while it is still in warranty.

I still have the old school Presto (in case I ever have company again) and it DOES make a GREAT cup of coffee, but as I drink only one 14oz cup per day, I got the Ninja Pods & Grounds single serve.

I use grounds with it as I like my coffee very strong, but I was thinking when I bought it that if I wanted a smaller cup later in the day I could grab some k-cups in a variety of flavors, so I got a small pack of those and realized, even in an appropriate-size cup, the coffee was WAY too weak even on the strong brew setting. Blech!

During warm weather I only drink two 10 oz. cups in the morning but as the days get cooler I will have several cups throughout the day. Honestly, I do not need this! My AeroPress works great and makes really good coffee.

Well , when I first unboxed it I wasn't real sure about it . Seemed small .
It's based off a 4 oz cup and I think US is based off a 6 oz cup ?
Just different I guess . The amount of water is less , and the amount of grind is more than what I'm used to , so that had me wondering . Started with a 4 cup ( 16 oz. ) pot .
This thing brews a " clean " cup of coffee . I was shocked , but still wondering if it was worth it .
Today is my 3rd day of using it , and I love it . Brews a fantastic pot of coffee .
It's quiet too . I like that .
Fits right in .

I actually took the water tank off the Ninja and filled it to the 6 cup line . Then poured that into the Moccamaster . It filled to half way between the 6 and 8 cup mark . So not much difference there . I actually drink less coffee now than I was . I guess because it's a better quality ?

Now I need to upgrade my bean grinder .

I often wonder how coffee makers can really make that much difference? It just hot water and coffee. I use to be picky about my coffee but not anymore. I quit grinding now and just use pre-ground. I have had many types of coffee makers even the French press. I not sure I really needed to replace mine or not but I had for sometime and got my money worth. I remember the fire danger you mentioned and when it popped the breaker I just decided to replace. I still happy with the new one but would never get those speed brews where the water stays hot all the time. Time to get ready for the river. The Mayor of the river passed and we putting his ashes in the river today.

I switched to a burr grinder when bought the Technivorn. The grind is very different from a blender type grinder.

I am on my second Bunn. Bought my first in 2008 as part of a kitchen renovation and stored away the old Farberware. The Bunn finally died and bought another this year. Only 3 months old and still working. Coffee ground fresh each morning with a cuisinart burr grinder. For certain the percolator used less coffee and the coffee always tasted great. This Bunn dies and the Farberware comes back out.
