Yep, several times. It is excellent. You can really mix it up by injecting/rubbing one breast spicy and one 'herby' if you want. Lots of options.
 
I would think you would smoke first, then deep fry to desired internal temp.
 
Smoke first. One to one and a half hours, then fry to your temps.
 
I’ve always wanted to but haven’t got to yet. I’d say it would be the best of both worlds
 
We do a couple a yr. brine them for 24 hrs, smoke for 2-3 hrs then into the oil it goes. It's a wonderful thing!!! Try you will not be disappointed.
 
I cold smoked one for 24 hours then fried it. It lost the smoke flavor.
 
I had the same experience as Adam.
Although I hot smoked mine to an IT of 140, then into the oil.
It lost almost all of the smoke flavor, however the skin was definitely crispy & the turkey was very juicy!

Odd. Mine have always retained the smoke. Even able to smell it in the oil later. I used hickory though. Hickory is pretty strong.
