Hello all! I am a smoker noob from New Mexico. I have a Brinkman Vertical two-door charcoal smoker and am looking for ways to mod it to get more heat out of it. I successfully smoked a pork loin but had to remove the water pan half-way thru the smoke to bring the heat up.

Looking forward to learning alot.

to SMF!!! Glad you found us, you came to the right place, there is a lot to learn here and a lot of great people just waiting to help you!!!

I did a quick search and looks like a lot of info on modding a Brinkman... http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/search.php?search=brinkman+mods

You can use the search bar at the top to find just about anything you are wanting to know.

Since you are new to smoking I would suggest taking the free 5 day E-course offered by the owner of this forum, TulsaJeff, it's really good and will teach you the basics to get you started...

Good morning Sauce! Welcome to SMF and the world of smoked foods.

There's lots of helpful info, recipes, mods and great folks here and don't forget the search bar above.

You'll have lots to read and one of the best tips I got was to document every smoke - get yourself a notebook and keep lots of notes!
