Anyone know the chain of command here on SMF....?

I keep seeing threads moved to other topics...like there is stuff going on in the background....!

Also....saw a thread that looked like it had been added to after being posted....it was someone opoligizing for posting the threat to early....the appoligy I'm sure was added after the thread had already been posted....?
Can that be done...I'm sure by someone up the chain of command.....just wandering......!!!

Basically, it works like this:

I am the owner/founder of this forum so they call me boss (only because I pay the bills)

Most of the computer geek stuff is done by Brian and he helps me oversee the running of the forum as well but does not do anything major without running it by me first.

Dutch is also listed as an admin and has been with us since we were a small yahoo group way back. He is busy like me and don't get in here as much as he used to but he still has the authority to yank some chains if he needs to.

We have a whole group of moderators who are responsible for moving, editing, deleting, or locking threads or posts at their discretion. If I disagree with an action then I will reverse it or do something different but that rarely happens.

We don't get too serious about who is in charge around here.. there is a lot of work involved in keeping a forum of this size running smoothly and everyone tries to pitch in and help.. some more than others due to jobs, time available and other factors.

I am not familiar with the post or thread being referred to but if anyone feels that something is done unjustly or incorrectly feel free to send me a Pm and I will look into it and/or try to shed some light on it for you.

Usually when things are done.. there are reasons that may not be known to the general public. We also may have discussed a certain situation and decided together what the best course of action is.

I hope that helps unmuddle things a little
