Hey Guys, sorry it’s been so long. I’ve been focused internally for a few years. I’ve stayed in touch with Ryan and Justin, but feel really bad I haven’t posted and interacted with other SMF family. I’m trying to get back at it, as life settles back to a new rhythm. For those that knew me before this post, the following is a brief rundown of the last two years…..after 28 years I retired from the Marines (Justin, Ryan, Jake and Robert gave me an amazing gift that hangs in my wood shop and is very special). I had no clue what I was going to do or where my family was going to live. Over the past two years we went from San Diego, to Virginia, to Iowa, and back to Virginia again. Through it all I’ve BBQd and cooked to keep centered and have come back to SMF for inspiration and recipes, but I haven’t felt ready to post. My apologies. Like everyone here, life is complicated, but I’ve missed the comrades here.
A few quick pics from the last two years…retired on a beach in Camp Pendleton where I slept on my first night after boot camp in 1994, learned to surf in 1998 (and surfed before/after every one of my 7 deployments), and was married on in 2010.

A friend took command of 8th&I in DC, my kids love the parade.
Found a great job, family is happy, still connected to the Marines.
Still trying to figure out what to do when I grow up.
