...are on the menu for tomorrow. Aldi's has them on sale this week for $7.29/lb. Not a great price, but decent in today's economy. I've never had these, but they looked good so I bought some to cook for the zoo tomorrow...

I'll be back tomorrow or if it's a late night, Tuesday to update...

I have some I got back from the processor in the freezer still. 3 ribs attached to each other per pack. I thawed a couple packs out awhile back and they have a skin like covering on the meat side that was a pain to trim off and quickly lost interest in trimming them.

I actually asked for plate ribs when I did my cut sheet and got short ribs back?

I may give it another try soon.

Not a bad price Charles and those sure look meaty! Gonna be mighty tasty.

I'm liking Aldi meats the more I try them. The only ground beef my wife will eat.
Hope it goes great for the zoo feeding.
Don't have to invite me over for short rib meal Charles.
My mother absolutely destroyed them and I just don't appreciate the taste or texture.

Those are gonna be good . Wish I could get some like that for that price .

Waiting for the finish.

They had them at my local Aldis and I passed them up and then I went back and none.

That's one complaint I have with them. They'll run good deals, but when they sell out, that's it and they may not have them again...

I should've just grabbed them when I saw them the first time around.

Somehow I missed this post Charles, those look Killer, they finished off with the perfect color, I bet they were great, and thanks for posting your rib rub recipe, it looks kill'er.

Our local Safeway Market has these on sale a few times a yr as low as $5.00 a pound, which is cheaper than burger right now. I buy them precut into short ribs, and also have the meat counter guy, can't really call them a butcher anymore, leave them uncut in four bone plates for me. I call the short ribs brisket bites, and the plate ribs brisket on a stick. Everyone I have made them for goes nuts over them, my 85 yr old Pop's begs me for them all the time. LOL!!!

For his upcoming Birthday I'm gonna smoke up two 4 bone plates of Brisket on a stick and 2 racks of Saint Louis pork ribs, Pop's and my Ma always get my Que on their Birthdays.
I love Que'in for them, as they seem to enjoy it more than others.
Ma is 85yrs old as well, and she's not cooking like she used too, so I try to cook a good meal for them at least a couple of times a month.
