Hey guys,

Been lurking for a while and decided to join. I've been using different local craft beers as an ingredient for smoked BBQ pork. I was thinking about selling sandwiches at a local farmers market. My question is, can I list the particular beer/brewery on the ingredients list? Or, do I need to contact each brewery and ask for permission?

Thanks and cheers from WI!

That's a good question, but why would you want to list the ingredients?

It would be like telling everyone what's in your rub & sauce.

I've never been to a BBQ stand where they list their ingredients.

First, welcome to the forum.

I think it might depend on local laws.  I know recently some vendors at a local farmers market that were selling sauces/jams and other things to eat had to shut down because the local authorities said they had to list ingredients in what they sold.  That being said, even with those regulations I wouldn't list the specific brand of beer.  You might list the type - IPA, Pilsner, Lager, etc. - but I wouldn't go any further than that.

Good luck.
