Hello OBR Volunteer! In the heart of Operation BBQ Relief, you, our registered volunteers residing in the affected regions, hold a special place. Our thoughts are filled with concern for your wellbeing and the safety of your loved ones. We sincerely hope that you were spared entirely or that any impacts you suffered were minimal. We understand the magnitude of the situation, with countless homes without power and water. We stand committed to serving that one hot meal that matters, a beacon of hope and comfort, to those who need it the most. Each meal served is a testament to our shared compassion and resilience. Operation BBQ Relief is deployed to Pinellas Park, FL. If you are available and able to deploy now or later, we invite you to join us in this endeavor of feeding those in need. Your volunteer contributions are indeed the heart of our operation. We would highly value your contribution as even a single day can make a significant impact on someone's life during these difficult times. You may sign up for the deployment through your volunteer profile on the "OBR Volunteers" app or on our website. Once you log in, simply choose as many days and shifts as you would like to contribute. There are two shifts daily: 7 am - 2 pm and 12 pm - 8 pm. We are seeking 10+ volunteers per shift every day and we need your help to keep up with food production needs! Please sign up for all days and shifts for which you are able and please share this with your family and friends (so they can sign up individually as well)! We will have very limited onsite accommodations designated for long distance travelers only. Local volunteers should plan to commute daily. We will have limited space onsite for campers/trailers. Please contact [email protected] regarding bunk or camper space requests. You MUST have written approval/confirmation from the Volunteer Servcies team to guarantee a bunk or camper space. To volunteer and deploy, here is some basic information you should know: Deployment Requirements: All onsite volunteers must be at least 18 years of age for this deployment. Operation BBQ Relief requires background screening for all personnel. Please be sure you have the latest version of the “OBR Volunteers” app, then check your volunteer profile details to see if new screening is needed. If it says “verify”, click that link to submit your screening update. Important note about volunteer expenses: Operation BBQ Relief is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit corporation. Expenses incurred by volunteers during their service to OBR might be tax deductible as a charitable contribution; please consult with your tax professional or attorney to make that determination. In accordance with Operation BBQ Relief policy, volunteers may not submit any expenses for reimbursement unless those expenses have been pre-approved in writing by authorized Operation BBQ Relief personnel. Yea.. I'm at work now so I can't go to You Tube and post a video (filters)... Search for Anna Maria Island on You Tube... That is our local beaches here (close by)... They got hit pretty hard too...

Looks like a mess. I guess I never thought of that much sand washing up on land. Lot of devastation up and down the whole east coast.
