So my first cooker was involved in an accident about a week and half ago on its way from Georgia to California. Delivery driver was struck by another vehicle and caused him to roll along with all the cookers being delivered. Thank God the driver was Ok but not so much for the smokers,"those can be replaced". Thats exactly what they did. Ben Lang called immediately and told me what had happened and said all cookers will be put to the front of line to get them back out to his customers asap. Just like promised it is built and back on the road just over a week later. I gotta be honest, when he called I felt like a little kid on Christmas Eve being told Christmas is being delayed for two weeks LOL. Any ways, the purpose of my post is to give praise to their customer service and two put my two cents out there if anyone is considering having a cooker built. Lang cares about his product and his customers and it shows. Cant wait for my first cook on my new 36

I know how excited you must be! How crazy all those Langs got messed up, I wonder if old Ben ends up having a scratch-and-dent sale...I'd be in!!

Anyway, glad no one was hurt and not surprised the customer service you are receiving. That's one good cooker you are about to own!!

73saint 73saint He said they were not salvageable, I was thinking the same thing lol. I cant wait to attempt those wings you just posted the other day.

Well I hope you enjoy them, and all of the other great stuff you will start putting out.

I ate the last of those wings last night while watching the pelicans and Portland; I didn’t even heat them up they were delicious cold!!

Oh my... D . That’s a sad story. It’s said like dropping a bottle of Johnny Walker Black. On the bright side. Your excitement and anticipation of Christmas has been extended. Good choice of equipment. B

All I have to say is your going to love that Lang!
Can't wait to see your first smoke on it!
The only thing I did to mine was add a couple more therms on the top rack.

Thanks Al, I had them drill some extra ports for my thermo works probes. Hopefully that will allow me to monitor and figure ways to even out the heat in the chamber

The problem with the 36 is that it's not long enough to even out the temps across the grate, but all I did was take a 9" loaf pan & fill it with water & put it on the bottom grate right against the wall on the firebox end. As you can see from the photo's the side to side temp on the top rack is even. The bottom rack is the same, but about 20 degrees cooler than the top, but even from side to side. Which is OK with me, for instance ribs on the top & beans under them. The beans get cooked, but not too fast & they don't dry out while the ribs get done!
You will figure out your own method!
