We like Morton’s season salt (used to be McCormick?) Grew up on it and basically put it on most everything. Never cared for Lawry’s because it has sugar in it which is something I don’t necessarily want on everything, I can always add that if needed. However I know there are a ton of other brands for season salt out there. Kinda curious as to what you guys all use?
I have a recipe for season salt that we like mostly to control salt and flavor. I’ll share it if interested, but really curious as to what everyone uses and why.

I used Johnny's for some time. But the last time I bought Morton's for the same reason (no sugar)

Which Morton's blend are you using? I've looked at some of them, but they all had added sugars.

I have just been schooled. I thought there was only Lawrys... I like the no sugar idea a lot.

EDIT: I see the link above. Many thanks

Yup

Eric, used to use McCormicks as well… then on my low carb diet looked at labels a bit deeper… switched to Morton’s! No sugar!

BTW, would love the recipe!

I've been Lawry's user. Didn't even know bout the sugar part. I use it thinly cause to me it can get over salty quick.
I'd like a homemade version!

My buddy turned me on to this and it's pretty tasty. Not very hot all all just a little kick. It does have a little sugar in it but I don't think a lot with 1 carb per tablespoon.

This isn't an attack at you Eric.
I'm trying to provide an education to all readers on deceptive labeling of products.
This is akin to the "uncured meat" label that on further reading we find it actually is "cured" in nitrite containing vegetable juice (or powder).

This one. It lists no sugar.
Making your own though controls both sugar and salt.
Tilt! Contains maltodextrin, which is a sweetener, as all of the labels I have checked.
Maltodextrin comes in 2 different families. 1 is regular glucose producing and the other is a keto friendly. Labels don't specify which maltodextrin and the 1/4 tsp serving size cannot determine the actual content because anything below 1 gram doesn't have to be listed.

While not marketed as a seasoned salt I'm fond of La Preferia Sazon.

Season Salt Recipe:

2 Tbs kosher salt
1 Tbs paprika
1 1/2tsp gran garlic
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp fresh cracked pepper
1/2 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red Chile powder (or cayenne)
1/4 tsp celery seed
1 tsp corn starch
1/2 tsp Mrs dash garlic and herb

Mix well then pulse through spice grinder

Obviously the salt as well as all other ingredients can be adjusted.
