Ended up with a 18" grill for free, and rescued a drum from work (not sure of the volume) but it's 18" across the top.  This little guy shall be called:  OBi 1.

I will commence the burn out this weekend and keep the post updated.

Well, got a phone call and it was a guy returning my voicemail from 2 weeks ago...He has a 30 gal drum!  He met me close to my work, paid him $20, and was on my way. 

Got home and chopped the lid off, only to find it has a chemical resistant liner...boo!



Looks cool right?  Gonna be a mini version of the last one I made.  Dropped it off at my local shop for inner/outer sandblasting and picked it up on the way home from work...



Hope to get my smoke on late this weekend!
 
Looks great. Did the lid fit right on with no mods? What are the inside dimensions of the Weber lid lip? Curious because I'm in the process of starting a 30g build. and I hope mine turns out this nice.

Chief the lid fits great with no mods....on mine anyways.  It is from a 18" weber.  I'll get you the #'s after while
