Ok, so I have been a member of this forum for a few days, and been reading different thing. I have a master forge smoker. I keep on seeing AMNPS in different threads, so I figured out what it meant. No my question is, do I need one and why. Thanks for the feed back.

The AMNPS doesn't work very well in propane smokers without some good ingenuity or serious modifications to the smoker but I have been reading some good stuff with Todd's new Tube smoker working well in propane smokers.

Do you need it? No. Is it nice to get 6-10 hours of great TBS without having to add wood? Yes.

If I hadn't already modded my GOSM for the AMNPS I would really be looking at the new Tube smoker.

Scottcim made a few simple mods to his Master Forge to get the AMNPS to work.  Here is a link to the thread.

I don't have any experience with the Master Forge's, but on a CharBroil model.  Like S2K9K said, no you don't need it,  but it would be nice to not have to get up in the middle of the night to add wood under a hunk of meat.
