I can't remember ever using it, but probably have at some point. Anyway, a Walmart near me has the 15.4 lb. bags for $7. Seems like a great deal and I really only use it to light my wood...

it's worth 7 bucks. I preferred to use it in my stick burner when my coal bed would get too small. Put a bit in a chimney, set it over my side burner on the propane grill, and in 5 minutes I had my coal bed back to where I needed it.

I've used it. Not bad. But. I've had a bag or two with small chunks. And allot of dust. Which could have been caused by handling and shipping I suppose. For that price. I'd snag a bag or 4.

I'm not sure if RO is the best of the bad lump, or the worst of the good lump, but at $7/per, I'd buy the rest of the pallet!

Seriously, I found it to have too many small pieces, too much dust, and the slightly-more-than-occasional uncarbonized piece of wood to pour it blindly into my BGE, but if I had the patience to sort it, or were it using for other things as mentioned above, it's a no-brainer. I'm glad I don't have to make that decision for myself today!

I’ve been using it in the kettle, no complaints other than as was said above had a bag with a few too many small smashed bits. Definitely worth it at $7

Nice find Charles, I’d definitely stock up at that price. I really like the RO lump when using the rotisserie on the Weber kettle. I think Adam @pc farmer referred me to it a long while ago.

It's not my favorite lump. But for $7 it's probably worth getting some. But buyer beware. When I've bought it I found the majority is small pieces and dust.

Pretty sure you did! I have tried the B&B charcoal when I can find it… it’s nice charcoal IMO. Let me know what you think of the lump.

Same with the others. I quit getting it because of the small pieces and dust. I also got a lot of rocks I would find after the ashes cooled down.

For $7/bag I could deal with it.

I like and use B&B briquets , pellets and the wood chunks . All great products in my opinion .
Follow up with your opinion of the lump .
The briquets burn white hot .

i'd buy a few bags at that price but no higher. every several months i will buy a bag again and its always disappointing. so many tiny pieces, so many that are clearly wood scraps from some factory or rocks. lots of dust. but then again, life is like a bag of charcoal, dont know what you'll get.

So it's going to burn hot. Not good for low temperature smoking?

Not my favorite... works fine in my Offset, but in the PBC it gives an off putting flavor (acidic)
But for that price, it is great as a base heat source in a Offset.
