River coffee and pork

We planned on having a firepit night and I saw a perfect opportunity to get some fire bbq and a pot of river coffee (mom made it for years when Rendezvousing).

Sadly I never drank the coffee my mom made at camp. Wasn't allowed (likely would have been the tasmanian devil in a camp full of ropes and canvas) and I decided I wanted to try it and I'm hooked.

We used to make our coffee like this for years working in the bush. It IS the best!!

Rendezvous (cowboy) coffee is bilge water to my taste. A teaspoon of baking soda might tame the bitterness
