Resting TriTip

How long do you need to rest? Time wise.

I just want to be sure I don't leave it wrapped and resting too long. I usually let Brisket rest wrapped 2 hours or more. Will resting Tritip that long have the same effect?

Just watch your IT at the time they come off. Shoot for 5 degrees less than your target IT then wrap and rest. A couple hours is very workable done this way.

Are you smoking this like a brisket?
It's a small piece of meat so it's going to drop temps a lot quicker. Than a big Ole brisket.

How long can I wrap and rest a triTip in my cooler before slicing and serving?
I kind of shoot for an hour, but I'm very picky on my sear time.

If you foresee a long rest, pull it early. Just watch the internal temp. This is in the low 130s°

I don't rest TT more than 20 minutes. Grill, rest, slice and serve works best for me.
