I have an old stainless steel sausage stuffer. The output (where the casings go) end of the stuffer is in need of repair. Rather than fixing it, I would like to replace it so that I can use modern sausage stuffer tubes. I'm looking for a male threaded piece and a matching threaded cap screw/locking nut. The male piece needs to be stainless, the locking nut can be of any material.

Thanks,

Nick

How about an 1-1/4'' stainless steel threaded nipple which can be Tig welded to the can?
Then you can use either PVC or a brass nut to hold the stuffer tubes in place.

A new LEM 5 is under $200. The older model with out the enclosed gear cap housing.

This!!!
I just used 1 1/4'' because he could use waste line slip joint nuts which would work perfectly because they have room for the stuffing tube horn to seat against the threaded nipple perfectly.
(think the nuts used on P-traps under your kitchen and bathroom sinks and bathtubs).

So, the stuffer is still in storage, I can't really get you guys a picture. It's all stainless, about 10" in diameter and holds about 30 lbs. I have a friend that does food grade welding who would be able to remove the current piece and patch in almost anything.

I understand the p-trap nut idea, I need the male, external threaded piece to be made of stainless. After your suggestions, I googled and didn't see any that are solid stainless. If you have a link to one or a brand and part number, I could use the help.

Thanks,

Nick

There are several companies that sell replacement stuffer "parts", but the male threaded nipple on the barrel is welded in place, so it won't be shown as a "part". However those companies have a source for that item. I'd give them a call and see if you can buy the nipple and nut. If your welder friend can fit and TIG weld stainless steel, you will be good to go.
