Lufkin Texas,
Has any one had any luck or tips on smoking racoons. I was thinking of parboiling it for about one hour.

I have never smoked one but have cooked them on the grill with indirect heat . They can be gressy but very good...If you parboil it first that might be a good idea if your going to smoke it....

,stop in at ROLL CALL and introduce yourself, please include the area you are and what you intend to use to cook your Raccoon  so we can give you a better answer, IMHO though,if you boil it for an hour , smoking would be redundant.

I have made a stew of them and discarded the fat that I didn't get while cleaning , then add Veggies (S/P) and dumplings, not bad,but ....

Just my observation

I can only give you one tip on smoking Raccoon.

Don't do it anywhere near Mom's kitchen.

That was the same tip my Mom gave my Dad, after he cooked one in her kitchen!!!!

Wasn't Pretty !!!!
