I was wondering. Sometimes my local supermarket puts bb's on sale for around 7 dollars a rack, pretty decent sized meaty ones too. Has anyone found that freezing them and thawing them out later to cook say 2 weeks later has taken away from the flavor/tenderness. If it doesnt, i'd like to take advantage of these deals. Thanks

I say go for it. I've never had a problem freezing ribs. Just let them defrost completely before starting to prep them. Personally though, spares are cheaper for me and I trim them myself.

Freezing is not a problem ... just make sure all the air is out before freezing.

... will be good for many weeks ....

Be sure to let the meat come up to room temp before putting on the smoker, this saves cooking time.At this low heat it takes lots of valuable smoking time to allow meat temp to come up to temp.

Yes, stock up and take advantage of the sales! I stock up every month and freeze all my meats with no problems at all.

I would take advantage of any sale. I have an upright freezer and a spare fridge that i try to fill with sales.

I haven't been able to tell the differance between fresh and frozen. I wish I could find a deal like that. I'd be throwing dem frozen waffles out of the freezer real quick.

A good deal on ribs is not to be overlooked! It might be a smokers law or something!

Freeze the beasties and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

I go to Costco all the time.

Ya have to get 3 bb racks at once. What I do, and I recommend this to anyone, get a vacuum sealer and seal up anything you dont need. Had stuff in the freezer that way for months and when defrosted, could'nt tell the difference.
