Using up the last of our homemade ham we had for Christmas Eve. https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/threads/bacon-and-ham-run.312130/#post-2285604
This is simple and the way we do this, it’s so creamy and rich. We like this the best:

Chop a medium onion, we use white onion, about 3 cloves garlic minced. Here I used 3 Tbs of butter to sauté. To that I added 2 tsp. Of Knorr chicken bouillon granule’s.

Once this starts browning on the bottom of the pan, I add about 1/2c white wine to deglaze the bottom of the pan. Then I add the diced ham. The ham will absorb all those garlic, onion, and wine flavors. Simmer until thick.

Then add between 1 pint and 1 quart of heavy cream and about 1 quart of milk. Add diced potatoes and simmer until potatoes are done. If more liquid is needed, add water to reduce.

From here, some fresh grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese with crackers or bread makes the soul feel good. This is rich, creamy soul food. Thought I would share.

Looks awesome, I was planning on doing a split pea with ours, but this is throwing me in a new direction! Thank you!

Glad you did Eric , looks great.
I'm doing a cream of turkey soup/stew with all the leftovers we have tonight when I get home from work
We always make way too much stuffing, as we love turkey and stuffing sandwiches, but now time to have soup.

Looks great, been cheating by using cubed hash browns lol , The remains of a spiral sliced ham are great but we didn't do 1 this year :emoji_disappointed:

Man now there is something I just can’t replicate in a keto version. I always loved split pea soup. No one else in my house does.

David have you tried using the stuffing to make waffles to then use for sandwiches? Did that this year and loved it.

I remember that post Jeff, I thought it was very cool, wish I had a waffle plate, I would have made that.
But here is the turkey soup, all the leftovers . And our big Chafing dish of our stuffing

Eric, your potato soup looked so good I had to make a stew with our leftovers like I mentioned

It does give lots of inspiration and new ideas! And an always growing to do or to try list. When my wife asks what I want for supper we have designated things for " I don't care" and "I don't know".

Me and the wife often eat different things for supper since our tastes vary a bit, but even if cooking for myself, it's often "I don't know and I don't care".
