So again, costco has the pit boss kamado for 600 dollars.  Big ones with 660 square inch surface.  People seem to like them.  I have a Joe Jr.  and paid around 500 for it and it works fine but almost the same price for 1/2 the size?  Makes me wonder why egg, Joe and Primo are so expensive.   A Primo about the size of the costco pit boss is like 1200.  What gives?  Is there any reason to get a primo over a pit boss and  pay 600 more??

The pit boss is likely a fine grill. I went with the Primo for a few reasons.
1. American made
2. Reputation for excellent customer service
3. I got sick of buying cheap knockoffs
4. Dual zones allow me to grill, smoke or bake
5. It was either a big green egg or a Primo. The owner of the shop where I bought it sold both and he had a Primo with about 300 cooks on it and it still looked great. It was his grill of choice.
6. Knockoffs don't hold heat as well and they just don't last as long. I live in Michigan and would like to grill in the colder seasons. The Primo allows me to do it.
7. It looks like a badass smoking machine.

Best of luck to you. Keep us posted.
