Pig pit- not a smoker

My old house was felled by a large oak during a storm. We did a tear down, built new, but I wanted to honor the old home somehow. Decided to build a pig pit from the salvaged brick.

In researching, I could only find the cinder block temporary pits, so here's my contribution.

You host the crab feast, I'll do the pig pickin! I used to enjoy quite a few crab feasts back home in MD many years ago, back when MD had large jimmies. Mmm. Miss those days.

Don't know how long ago you were living in MD but the big jimmies you remember are gone. 2014 was a real bad season and 2015 was not all that great until late August. Still no real big jimmies. Crabs 4th July in Balt. City was $300.00 bushel. Due to health reasons never had my boat off the trailer this year sure missed that.
