So I like to do cold smoking but find the pellets I buy don't smolder the best. So I filled a 5 gallon bucket 1/4 full then half full of water. Let them soak a couple hours then put the pressure washer in the bucket to bust them up. Strained it in a screen then spread it out to dry on a black rubber matt for 2 days in the sun and wind. It works great. Anyone else do something like this?

Yes, but not that involved. Can just run them through a meat grinder as well. Many ways to make the dust. Glad though you are on your way.
welcome aboard.

My only use for pellets is cold smoking salmon into lox, use a Amaz-N-Tube. Putting a plate full in the microwave for a minute of two might work without going thru all that, maybe! RAY

I grab a couple handfuls, put in coffee can, run a little water in there, mix them up until all soaked(10 mins). Spread them out on baking sheets. Into MES 40 @200° for couple hrs.
