I'm looking for some bulk 100% pecan pellets. I'm running low from a big purchase from Todd some years ago. I found Smokin Pecan pellets 1oo%. Has anybody used them in an AMAZN tray? Pecan is my favorite pellet, but it is getting hard to find the pure stuff. Open to any other brands. 20 pound plus bags. Thanks

I have used Smokin Pecan's pecan shell pellets quite a bit in an Amazen tube both whole and as dust, zero issues whatsoever. It's become my goto pellet these days for just about everything.

They're kind of expensive but well worth it imo.I actually have a 20lb box that should be arriving Monday as I'm down to about my last pound.

Just remember pecan shell pellets and pecan wood pellets are similar but not the same.

I can't say I've had 100% pecan pellets, but I do have a bag of pit boss pecan blend that I mix with cherry to run in the pellet pooper. I do make dust from them also to use in the maze.

2 lb bags of A MAZE N pecan pellets at Pit Boss (that's who bought A MAZE N out)... They still carry some of the pellets...

Came just in time as I was just about out!

I've never used the 100% Pecan but I use pecan chips a lot on the kettle with charcoal. I get the LJ pecan blend and have been pretty happy with the flavor.

If I was back in Denison, I could fix that for you. Fried tree rat is delicious
You know my dad's side of the family were simple folks who ate what they could harvest but my Papaw was quirky and they tell the story of him being told that squirrels were part of the rat family and my dad claimed he never ate a squirrel again after that! This happened before I was born and growing up we hunted and fished but we never hunted squirrels so I think the story might have been true. The man could make sounds just like a squirrel! He spent a lot of time in the woods during his life.

Dove, Deer, Quail, and a lot of Catfish caught in Blue River. Great memories.

My memory is catfish caught in Texoma, sand bass caught in the lake and below the dam, quail and doves. All good eats

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to order20 pounds of pellets from Smokin Pellets. Pecan is the family favorite, but I also have 8 or 9 different woods to play with.

I’ve tried Smokin Pecan pellets in my AMAZN tray before, and they did a decent job. The flavor wasn’t as rich as some other brands I’ve used, but it still worked fine for low and slow smoking. I get how tough it can be to find 100% pecan in bulk—seems like the good stuff is harder to come by these days. If you’re open to other options, I’ve had good results with Lumberjack pellets, and they offer some nice bulk sizes too.

Don't forget the Smokin Pecan are pecan shell and not pecan tree wood and there is a difference in the flavor profiles between the both.I personally like the shell pellets because they burn so well especially as dust.
