We haven't cooked anything inside in about a month, too darned hot. Today I felt like a nice poolside brekky and had all the fixin's so I got off my butt and started chopping up some stuff and fired up the griddle. The menu was home maple bacon, a few eggs sunny-side up, some country taters with onions and red and green peppers, a flour tortilla and some cran-mango juice. The first order of business is to get all the players assembled on the field

First up get the veggies going with a few squirts of veg oil, save the EVOO for when you're going Italian
DSCN2032.JPG

Oh, and don't think it ain't hot, it's only a little after 9:15 in the morning
DSCN2033.JPG

The ceiling fans help to give that clothes dryer effect, it ain't so bad
DSCN2034.JPG

Get the taters going when the veggies just start to soften
DSCN2035.JPG

Once the taters have been on for a bit mix the onion and peppers in, give 'em a little toss, get 'em over to the side so the bacon fits nice
DSCN2036.JPG

It doesn't take long for that bacon to get right on a flat top, then over to the side to stay hot while the eggs cook up in that bacon grease, yummy

A couple a minutes and I'm all plated up and just about as happy as a man could be
DSCN2038.JPG

Didn't take much time to cook it up, took even less to gobble it all down, Bob licked the plate while I jumped in the pool

Just another day in paradise, lots of time to think about dinner. Thanks for lookin' in! RAY

Looking good RAY! I could go for a dip in the pool right now!

Just got out from our 4th dip of the day Travis, we love the pool! RAY

Yep looks like a nice breakfast.

Thanks Jake, filled me up fine and gave me all day to think about dinner!

Nice cook Ray .

Thanks Rich, it's good to get the work in, we're most likely not going to be walking into a restaurant anytime soon. Thanks for the Like too, I appreciate it. RAY

With a breakfast like that, I would be ready for a nap.

Thanks kruizer, I did take a little cat nap in front of the TV set after dipping, no sense trying to fight it at my age. Thanks for the Like too, much appreciated. RAY

Should wait until Noon---Then you don't have to turn it on!! Come & Get It Bob!!! Like. Bear

You got that right John, lol! At noon the temp gauge on my offset was reading 150º and the sun hadn't even hit it yet. Thanks for the Like Bear, I appreciate it. RAY

Another nice one Ray! Gotta love having the pool to cool down in after doing all that work..... :emoji_joy:
BIG LIKE! John

Thank you my friend, I'm really getting to love cooking on that thing. I don't know why but it doesn't burn up the sugars in the bacon I make like a frying pan does. Yeah, it doesn't take long here in the dessert to start workin' up a armpit, I wouldn't live here without a pool, just can't see it. Thanks for the Like amigo, much appreciated. RAY

That is one fine looking meal Ray! Great job. Dave

Thank you Dave! I started out thinking about French toast or a omelet with some bacon but with this heat I really strive to keep things simple and fast. Hell, the sooner it get cooked the sooner I eat, then the pool! Thanks for the Like Dave, much appreciated. RAY

Gosh yes, breakfast of champions, dip in pool, little nap to follow, paradise !

Thanks WR, you are definitely catching my drift! I find every day if I take the time to appreciate and be thankful for all the little good things that come my way, I won't get all pissed off when something just doesn't work out right for me, because that's going to happen too. Thanks for the Like, I do appreciate it. RAY

This is very good advice. One of the keys to cooking is to know what oil to use when.

Thanks Arch, and thank you for the Like! I see you are from AZ also, welcome! It's a big place, there's a few of us here, from whereabouts do you hail? RAY

Another awesome looking breakfast Ray!

Thanks Steve! Brekky and dinner are pretty much it for me, I most often don't eat lunch anymore. I used to eat a huge lunch back in my carpenter days, needed the fuel. Since all I've been doing is polishing a chair with my butt since retirement two meals a day is more than sufficient. Thank you for the Like Steve I do appreciate it. RAY

Chandler - Kyrene and Ray. Spent most of the day in the pool reading about other people’s cooks. I have a Masterbuilt 560 with a busted temp probe, so just itching to get to cooking while waiting on the mail to deliver the replacement.

Ah, right down the street from Gila River casino! My wife and are are players and were executive members there before the pandemic. Even tho they send a daily email begging us to come back that's all history. No more casinos, movie theaters, airplanes, maybe restaurants too, forever! Life will never be the same as before, never.

560's appear to be really solid units and a lot of folks on the site have them, pull off some great cooks. When you're back up and running post up your cooks with some pics, if it can't be seen it never really happened. RAY
