Ordered New Smoker

I ordered a Horizon 20" Classic at Hawgeyes BBQ yesterday. Unfortunately, it most likely won't be here until April when they get their next shipment delivered. At least the snow should be melted off by then!

That's a nice smoker, congrats. They run really, really well. If I can make a suggestion; get the convection plate with it. It really doses make a difference.

My brother-in-law has the 16" classic and he highly recommended the convection plate as well.

I forgot to mention the options I chose. I added the sliding convection plate, a second shelf, a second thermometer and the warmer on the fire box.

Pretty much the same as I have. I did get the counterweight also.

I am suprised he didn't have one out there, I agree with Rick get the sliding convection plate option but also add the pot warmer option, very handly to have the square pot warmer on the firebox. Congrats on a very nice pit.

He did have a standard configured one, but it didn't have the pot warmer or second shelf. If it would have had the pot warmer I probably would have gotten it and just added the second shelf myself.

Man oh Man how do you wait for a smoker for 3 monthes and you are cool with that. Man I'm a pick it up and go with it kind of guy If I cann't pick it up and smoke that night I don't buy it. More power to you.

That's just the price you pay when it's a custom order. I had a fairly long wait when I ordered my Horizon too. Then again I got exactly what I wanted, it was well worth the wait.

I still have my WSM to use while I wait, so I can still do a bit of smoking. With the snow and cold weather we keep getting I haven't been too motivated to spend much time outside. I am guessing I will start to get a bit impatient as it gets closer to April.

Usually I am a want it now kind of guy, but I am willing to wait to save a few dollars. I don't have to pay for shipping if I wait until they bring up all of their orders at once.
