I was pre-heating my Master Forge smoker so I could smoke some corn. I came out about 20 min. later to load it up. When I opened the top door there was my Taylor digital thermo. w/ probe taking on a brand new shape. It was blinking a blue light which reminded me of R2 D2 from star wars. After I loaded it up and the temp was stable I went to buy more hickory chunks. They had 1 thermometer left and marked down to 19.99. It went home with me. The Taylor was only 3 smokes old. Lesson learned.... don't use your smoker for storage.

I bet your thermometer and one of my cordless phones look a lot alike.

I just set it down on the cold grill while i went to scrub down one of the othe grills. Now we call it art. It does have a nice smell though.

Been there done that. I use a propane torch to light my AMNS and the BBQ is right next to the smoker. It was supposed to rain so I put all the tools away and covered thing up. Went to use the grill next time and lit it without opening. I got real lucky. The cap to open the valve melted but the tank did not explode. That was way dumber than this one. I get the dunce cap
